Katherine Beard

Katherine is an associate at Abramovitch Blalock McKinnon. She graduated, cum laude, from George Mason University School of Law in 2020 and joined the firm shortly thereafter. Katherine was drawn to family law because of the vast difference having a caring attorney can make during emotional family disputes. She understands that every family is unique and the importance of providing personalized representation to help each client through difficult times.

During law school, Katherine was awarded the Outstanding Clinical Student Award by the Clinical Legal Education Association for her excellence in clinical fieldwork. This award was for her work as a Student Advisor at her school clinic where she assisted veterans and active-duty military members with a variety of civil matters including divorces. Additionally, Katherine spent a summer as a Public Interest Law Initiative Intern where she assisted low-income clients and survivors of domestic violence with divorces, custody disputes, and orders of protection. Katherine also appreciates the Alternative Dispute Resolution process and understands that sometimes the best, long-lasting solutions can be reached through settlement.
